Welcome to MITE! This guide will walk you through installing the Minecraft Is Too Easy (MITE) mod for Minecraft 1.6.4. Follow these step-by-step instructions to get started with the hardest Minecraft experience.

Before installing MITE, make sure you have:
Minecraft Java Edition (official launcher)

📂 Step 2: Extract the ZIP File
- Locate the downloaded MITE 1.6.4 R195.zip file (usually in your Downloads folder)
- Right-click the ZIP file
- Select "Extract All..." or use WinRAR/7-Zip
- Extract to a folder you can easily find (like Desktop or Downloads)
🔧 Step 3: Run the MITE Installer
- Open the extracted folder
- Find Setup.exe (file size: 56KB)
- Double-click Setup.exe to run the installer
- If Windows asks for permission, click "Yes" or "Run anyway"
- The installer will automatically configure MITE for your Minecraft launcher
- Wait for the installation to complete (usually takes 10-30 seconds)
Note: The installer automatically adds MITE to your Minecraft launcher profiles.
🎮 Step 4: Launch Minecraft with MITE
- Open Minecraft Launcher (the official launcher)
- On the left sidebar, select "Java Edition"
- At the top, click "Installations" tab
- Click "+ New Installation" button (or find existing MITE installation)
- Give it a name like "MITE 1.6.4"
- Click the Version dropdown menu
- In the search box, type "mite"
- Select "release mite-1.6.4" from the results
- Click "Create" or "Save"
▶️ Step 5: Play MITE
- Return to the "Play" tab in the launcher
- In the profile dropdown (bottom-left), select your MITE installation
- Click the green "Play" button
- Minecraft will launch with MITE installed
- Create a new world and start your hardcore survival journey!
✅ How to Verify MITE is Installed Correctly
When you launch the game, you should see:
- "MITE" in the Minecraft title screen
- Different main menu appearance
- Modified crafting recipes
- Harder game mechanics immediately
❓ Troubleshooting Common Issues
Problem: Setup.exe won't run
Make sure you extracted the ZIP file first (don't run from inside the ZIP)
Disable antivirus temporarily (it may flag the installer)
Run Setup.exe as Administrator (right-click → Run as Administrator)
Problem: Can't find MITE in version dropdown
Make sure Setup.exe ran successfully
Restart the Minecraft Launcher completely
Check if the .minecraft/versions folder contains a "mite-1.6.4" folder
Problem: Game crashes on launch
Ensure you're using a clean Minecraft 1.6.4 installation
Remove other mods that may conflict
Allocate more RAM to Minecraft (in Installation settings, add -Xmx2G to JVM arguments)
Problem: "Version not found" error
